About this blog
Intermittent posts on (i) ethics and the internet and (ii) learning and teaching in higher education.
My research covers three domains: the scholarship of learning and teaching, applied ethics and cognitive science. My current research projects include a book on Ethics and the Social Web for the SpringerBriefs in Ethics series and a model of feedback to improve student learning. My research has appeared in Studies in Higher Education; Ethics and Information Technology; Housing, Theory and Society; Phenomenology and the Cognitive Sciences; Biology & Philosophy; Philosophical Psychology; The Encyclopedia of Applied Ethics and Cognitive Processing.
My interests in learning and teaching are broad. I am joint editor, with Prof. Sachs, of Peer Review of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. I have chaired a number of external reviews including Humanities Education at the University of Pretoria and Education at The Australian School of Advanced Medicine. I have been an external consultant for the New South Wales Institute of Teachers and THINK Education Group. In 2008 I was awarded an Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning.
